Depending on how long or if at all you’ve played console games will dictate your reluctance of letting go when switching to PC. The default way to play on PC is using a mouse and keyboard. At first glance it can be overwhelming to anyone accustomed to roughly using 4 fingers to then all at once using 10 fingers, arm position, and flick of the wrist.

This tip guide is good for those looking to play casual and competitive. So pick up your favorite controller and hope there’s native support.

Custom Bindings

One of the first things to check in a shooter is support for custom bindings. “Bumper Jumper” is a common bind you’ll see top players use in competitive shooters. Play around with what’s most comfortable. Generally you wan’t to avoid lifting your thumb from movement/aim sticks as much as possible.

NOTE: some games break when changing bindings. Apex Legends for example doesn’t allow you to pick up gear from opposing players death chest when full custom bind setting is used.

Pressing square doesn't pickup items from player death chests.

Games are like legumes — there’s all kinds out there. I’m partial to pinto beans and JRPGs.
